What is your problem? Are you trying to backup up your iPad? If so, use iTunes on a computer.

trying to get what i backed up (through iCloud) on my iPad that i restored. on iTunes (with my iPad plugged in) the "restore backup" button is grey and cannot be pushed...

Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content&Settings. Do this, and once you have, go through the startup wizard and select restore from backup. You don't need to plug your iPad into your computer, just follow the above steps. This will only work if your backup is in iCloud.
