iOS 10 birthdays in notification center/today view

In iOS 9 there was a line underneath the date in the Notification Center/Today View that displayed something like "Today is John's 37th birthday".

This seems to have vanished in iOS 10 or am I the only one who has this?

The "Up Next" widget can't handle this either because birthdays are saved as all-day events & this widget doesn't show all-day events...

Hey there. I figured out the problem at least for me. Even tho I had birthdays set to remind me the day of at 9, they still wouldn't remind me. I figured out that I had to set "all day events" to remind me at 9 in the morning as default. Now I'm being reminded about birthdays. Birthdays in iOS 10 now seem to be handled as "all day events". Hope this is helpful.

Hi Kevin,

no, I checked that behaviour. A friends birthday is today and it is not visible in the widget's "what's next and"calendar". Added a "all day"-events to see if it's a bug in the Birthday tag in the contacts, but it does not appear as well. So i think its a bug in the all day events. Did you report this to apple?

BTW: i had a hard time trying to add a date of birth to a person, ios was ignoring the year entry. After trying several times, it worked.

I've noticed this as well, I don't want an active notification of everyone's birthday (which you can choose to alert you in settings) the passiveness of that notification was perfect, now it's gone. Why did they remove this, why not provide the option to have it off and on.. I feel as though it should be handled by the "up next" widget.. The information was included in the "Today Summary" even told you happy birthday when it was your birthday..
