I've installed ios10 version and now in mail you no longer have the ability to delete all the content in the junk mail folder. Does anyone have a workaround other than deleting the individual mail? Thanks

I Have finally figured out why my iPad and iPhone mail from my hotmail account has two folders, JUNK and JUNK MAIL. To get rid of the mail in JUNK MAIL, I had to select each mail and then select delete all. Apparently when setting up a hotmail account on iPad and iPhone using either the Outlook or Exchange setup in iO, it adds this extra folder called JUNK MAIL. To get rid of this, delete your hotmail account on the iOS devices, and then select "other" as the option to add a new email account on iOS devices. This no longer adds the JUNK MAIL folder, and iOS then put junk mail in JUNK folder which you can then easily say delete all without having to individually select each email.
this means you will have to completely download all emails to all folders again, but it's worth it.
I don't unfortunately. I replied to a similar question yesterday and in iOS 9 there was an option to Delete All or Trash All. See Screenshot below. In iOS 10 this feature has apparently been removed. You could send feedback to Apple if you wish. They might return the feature in future upgrades, they read all:

I just emailed a friend of mine and a Level 10 here, a very knowledgeable user. He is on iOS 10 and tells me that his Junk mailbox still contains Delete All at the bottom right. However, it appears removed in the Inbox. I would post his screenshot but it contains personal info. I did see Delete All in Junk as he said. This other thread may shed additional info:
I don't know what to recommend to you. Perhaps this will help:
Try resetting your Mail Account. First close your Mail App completely from the app switcher window by double clicking the Home button and swiping up the Mail preview pane until it disappears from the screen. Then go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > locate your email provider, click on the account and swipe to Delete. Then restart the device. Then go back to Settings > Mail… and add the account again.
Thanks for the reply. The delete all function is grated out for me in iOS10 Mail. I'm not about to delete and reset my mail and then reload all the 20 folders and content unless this becomes an issue. The feature was there in iOS9 but no longer is visible to use in iOS10. Thanks
I just looked in my AOL junk folder and "delete all" is there. It might be worth a reset if you can get this function back.
Is the *account* an IMAP or POP account?
IMAP "folders", are really ON the server and "represented" on your iPhone.
Junk folder is a "stock" folder (not created BY you as a custom folder) and the "characteristics" are set up by the mail system - for instance, my Yahoo "Bulk Mail" folder has an option to "Empty Junk" - but my ISP's "Junkmail" folder does not.
If your account is IMAP, it is possible that deleting your account from your iPhone then adding it back again might restore the feature to its Junk folder - since all the content is really on the server, nothing will be lost, you will only be getting a "fresh" representation of what is there.
I Did not delete my account. Glad I did not. An Apple tech told me the delete all function in junk mail that was there in iOS9 is no longer there in iOS10........ it's a new feature......

Here is a workaround until Apple restores the Select All - Delete functionality in iOS 10:
1. Open the inbox you wish to delete all
2. Tap edit (top right corner)
3. Tap to select any email (this will enable the move functionality)
4. Tap & Hold "Move" (bottom center)
5. While holding "Move", tap to de-select the email from step 3 (you are doing this so all emails, not just the selected email get moved)
6. Release "Move" (this will bring up a list of destinations to move your mail
7. Tap "Trash" or "Archive" to move all messages to the respective destination
It's convoluted, but a workaround nonetheless.
