Q: Apple Watch: How can I get my heart rate to show on the fitness app?
If I use the fitness app and choose "Other" for my workout, it shows my heart rate. But if I select "Outdoor Run" or "Outdoor Walk" it doesn't show it. Is there a way to get my heart rate visible without having to leave the fitness app and pull up the heart rate app? It should be possible given that the "Other" fitness option displays it. I was hoping the new update would automatically put that in, but alas, it does not. For those of us who want to run within a particular heart rate range, this would be crucial. My wife's Fitbit does it? Why not my remarkably expensive Apple Watch?

Hi
Follow these steps to have heart rate information shown by the Workout app during your Outdoor Run and Outdoor Walk workouts:
- Check that Power Saving Mode is turned off:
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > Workout - turn off Power Saving Mode.
- Customise your Workout app metrics:
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Workout > Workout View.
- Choose Multiple metric.
- Tap on Outdoor Walk > tap on Edit (upper-right) > select up to 5 metrics (they can be arranged in your preferred order).
- Tap on Done (upper-right) when finished.
- Do the same for Outdoor Run.
