Q: IOS 10 mail puts messages threads in seemingly random order

Since the IOS 10 Update email message threads on my iPhone 6+ are in a really weird order. There seems to be no real order to how the messages are displayed once you click on the thread.

The first message in the thread seems to be randomly placed under some of the replies, and occasionally the entire thread will be under one of the replies as if the message breaks were not detected.

I have Enabled the "Most Recent Messages on Top" setting which has meant the last message and your entry point to the thread is at the top (rather than in the middle with this setting disabled), but the message order still has the above quirks.

The issue is the same in my Office 365 mailbox and Hotmail.

Apole, for all that's holy, please revert back to iOS 9 for the organization of email threads.  This new system is entirely useless for any professional who has voluminous  strings.   You have rendered my iPhone and iPad useless for managing my emails.  Go back to the old system which was not broken.

This is not acceptable. Are apple reading this thread at all?

Replies composed in the mail app are also broken. I have somehow managed to send a reply to the wrong branch of a thread, even though I used the expander arrows, specifically selected the message I wanted to respond to, and saw the body of the message I was replying to while composing my reply. I didn't even realize I had done this until I looked for my reply in Outlook and couldn't find it in the part of the thread I was expecting.

I have *never* replied to the wrong message in the mail app before, at least not without fat-fingering it (and then immediately realizing my mistake and sending an immediate follow up).

This is ridiculous. Either due to extremely poor and misleading usability or due to bugs the mail app in iOS 10 is completely and utterly broken.

Apple, please return the functionality of the iOS 9 mail app -- that actually worked!

To get your email threading back to an approximation of the old iOS 9 version:

    1.  Go to "Settings" and "Mail" and then scroll down to the "Threading" section and select "Most Recent Message on Top"

    2.  To scroll to a particular message within a thread, use the blue "<" and ">" arrows at the top right of the screen.  The  "<" arrow goes to older (prior) emails; the ">" arrow advances to newer (more recent) emails.

    3.  To reply to a particular email within a thread, go to that email, and then swipe left.  You will then have the choice of replying to the email (blue circle with reply arrow symbol), flagging the email (orange circle with flag symbol), or deleting the email (red circle with trash can symbol)

Hope this helps!  It took me a lot of research to figure all of this out.

RIGHT?!! I wonder this too! Do they read this feedback at all? DO THEY CARE ABOUT OUR PAIN??!! Why does no one from Apple reply with an explanation of this new structure? Irrational & cumbersome as it seems to all of us, perhaps they're working to fix the flow... or new features in a later release will correct the horrors of 10... but for god's sake THEY NEED TO TELL US!! Everyday I'm hoping and praying to wake up to a software update or some comment from Apple that will HELP ME figure out this terrible new 10 and learn some small way to make it work for my life and work (cause right now I want to throw my phone against a wall anytime I need to open the email app... which is about every 2 minutes!!!!). I don't know how to get Apple to listen, I've even called Support to vent my anger and ask if they know about any future fixes... and their reply??... "EVERYONE I KNOW LOVES THE NEW MAIL APP, IT ESSENTIALLY WORKS THE SAME" ... And then I start screaming. So my advice, until Apple listens, call tech support and start screaming. I am convinced if enough of us do this they will have to answer.
