Sep 15, 2016 5:23 PM in response to Travelby jameson.h,Hello Travel,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.I understand from your post that after upgrading to iOS 10 the Notes app is not staying open. I know how important it is for your Notes app to be working properly for you. If you have not already, I recommend restarting the Notes app and restarting your iPhone.
If an app you installed unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open
Restart the app
Close the app and open it again.
Restart your device
Best Regards

Sep 17, 2016 10:47 AM in response to Travelby Suzcole,After updating to the IOS 10 on both my iPad Pro and iPhone 6 Plus, my Notes app will not allow me to view the notes. It opens to the menu of folders. But then when I click on a folder, it closes without letting me view any notes! Very frustrating as I have extremely important information in them! I see others are having this issue too! Please help!

Sep 20, 2016 6:06 PM in response to jameson.hby Critifur,That absolutely did NOT fix the issue. Notes still crashes every time I try to use it on my phone. I can only access notes on my MacBook Pro.

Sep 21, 2016 8:38 AM in response to jameson.hby TheVicca,This fix did not work for me. I still cannot view notes from my iPhone 6.
For other posters who have important data locked into the notes, as a work around, you can go to www.icloud.com and login to get access to your notes and other items. Hopefully, this will help until the issue with notes has been resolved.

Sep 21, 2016 8:51 AM in response to TheViccaby TheVicca,★HelpfulI found this solution elsewhere and it worked perfectly for me.

Please make sure your data is adequately backed up using either iTunes or iCloud before trying. I wouldn't want you to lose any data. It's highly unlikely because of the nature of this issue, but better safe than sorry.
In case you can't open the link, the solution that worked for me was:
Settings / iCloud
Toggle "Notes" off (deletes all notes from your device - take a deep breath)
Toggle "Notes" on
Open Notes and all notes are re-downloaded
Now Notes is working perfectly for me.

Sep 21, 2016 9:42 AM in response to Travelby Critifur,After repeatedly trying the reboot... This worked for me:
Under Settings, > iCloud I turned off my link to notes. It then deleted all of the notes from my phone (scarry). I then turned back on the link to Notes.
- When opening Notes, it re-downloaded all my notes. It seems that something got corrupted and was crashing the sync/app.
Thanks to reitveld!

Sep 24, 2016 1:01 AM in response to TheViccaby aafromwokingham,I wasn't brave enough to do that, so I set my phone into airplane mode, created a new note on my iCloud account, switched airplane mode off and no more crashes (so far).

Oct 1, 2016 9:01 PM in response to Travelby ireland_luv,Backup your phone
in SETTINGS
- set it to Airplane Mode
- go to iCloud in settings
- turn notes off (this is scary. deletes your iCloud notes)
- turn Airplane Mode off
- in a few minutes you should see all your notes back or returning. If not, sync through iTunes
i won't guarantee it but it worked for me.
