Q: Inconsistent current in charging an iPhone from Mac via USB
You guys may experience it: You buy a new cable, when you plug it into your Mac to charge your phone its fine at first, and over time your phone will keep making the charging noise which is kind of annoying. And when it doesn't make the noise it doesn't charge. How can I ensure that the phone is charging consistently without making all those annoying "Now Charging" noises?
iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.2

If your phone is making the charging sound while being connected to the Mac, there might be a hardware problem with some of the components. Try to narrow it down by using the wall adapter as a first step. If it still does that, try another, original USB cable.
The docking port of the phone has to be free of any debris or lint as well and the lighting plug has to fit in exactly.
You might want to check the port, using a magnifying glas. I did not believe my eyes when I cleaned the docking port of my son's iPhone.
Use compressed air to blow it out, or visit an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider and let them take care of that.
In case that is not the problem, check the USB ports of your Mac, don't use a USB hub.
Also have a look at the Systeminfo and see if all USB ports are working correctly.
