itune Movies on Apple tv 4

My wife and I tried to watch purchased itunes movies on 2 separate apple tv 4's, with each tv playing a separate/different titled itunes movie. it did not work because the apple tv was saying we could not watch on two apple tv4's at the same time. such as my wife was watching "The Shallows" in the living room, and I was trying to watch "Warcraft" in the bedroom at the same times. but I was not able to because itunes said that we could not watch on two devices. Both devices are on same apple account ID, and both are purchased movies thru itunes, We have a 75meg internet account using ethernet. so is this true that we cannot watch movies like this?

I have no trouble watching different movies on different Apple TV's, indeed In almost 10 years in this community I have never seen anyone else post that this had been a problem from them. I suspect you might be misunderstanding the situation.

This is the first time we tried watching like this, we have 3 apple tv4's because we have three people that have different entertainment tastes.

We have 2 Apple TV 4's but 9 Apple TV's that use my iTunes account (others are 2's and 3's), We watch different movies on different Apple TV's quite regularly.

Are you streaming purchased movies from the Apple store with each Apple TV, or playing downloaded movies via Home Sharing from one Mac? Might make a difference.

I cannot verify any of the above as I only have one Apple TV.

That was what I thought we could do but this is the first time I tried watching like this, and at the moment of watching it would not let us watch on two tvs. we have 3 apple tv4, 1 macbook, 1 imac, 1 ipad, and 2 iphones. the only devices using itunes at the time were 2 apple tv4's. we got a message stating we couldnt use itunes because too many devices...

You can watch separate movies via home sharing as well as from the iTunes store.

If I'm interpreting you correctly, the message doesn't say you can't watch 2 movies at the same time on different devices, it says you have too many devices associated with iTunes.

Apple TV's aren't associated devices, but you can read more about associated devices at:
