Up Next feature in Music does not allow removal of songs

In the iPhone 10 upgrade to the Music app, the Up Next songs in the queue that I remove reappear when the next song loads. I've taken the repeat feature off and the songs I removed still reappear.

I am seeing the same behavior. Removed song reappears as soon as the next 'up next' song starts to play.

Further, I cannot see any way to clear the entire 'up next' list. Seems you have to do it a song at a time.
