Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you are having and issue with your headphone jack on the iPhone. I know how important it is to be sure the jack is working properly at all times. Checking other headphones with the device is a great place to start. Check out this article If your headphones don‘t work with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. If you have checked to be sure there is no debris in th jack, your best option will be in this article here: Get help with hardware features on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
Cheers!

If you tried all the steps in the articles and feel it might be a software issue, check out these steps here that will eliminate software as the root of the issue for you:
- Check out this article for the steps for How to backup your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
- Use this article for the steps to Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings.
- Once that is done, set the phone up as new and test the phone to see if the issue is still going on. Then, follow this article to Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup
If these steps don't work, the issue could potentially be with the hardware after all. Have a great day!
