Extending FiOS-G1100 WiFi with Airport Time Capsule

The only method to extend the Quantum router with the Time Capsule would be with both devices interconnected by Ethernet. This would be the basis for a roaming type network. You will NOT be able to extend the Quantum router with the Time Capsule if the connection between them will be wireless.

In a roaming network, you do NOT want to use the "Extend a network" option in the AirPort Utility. This was intended only when the connection between routers will be wireless. Instead, the TC should be configured to "Create a wireless network." Is this not the case?

I have the same exact setup as this. If I should not use the "Extend a wireless network" what should I do instead? My VZ Fios equipment is configured to broadcast a

Compatibility Mode(802.11b/g/n) wireless signal, protected using WPA2 security settings.

My time capsule is set to bridge mode. My wifi is turned off on the TC.

I have the time capsule Ethernet wired to the FIOS base station.

Where is the TC located in relation to the Fios router?

IF....the TC is going to be located a few rooms away from the Fios router, then you can set up the TC in a roaming network configuration to provide additional wireless coverage and make a "bigger" wireless network.

To do that, the TC would be set up to "create a wireless network" that uses the same wireless network name, same wireless security setting and same password as the Fios router.

Then, make sure that the TC is still set up in Bridge Mode before you update the settings in AirPort Utility.

BUT.....if the TC is located close to the Fios router, then you would NOT want to set it up to use the same wireless network name, security and password, since you never want two routers in close proximity set up the same way.

Set up the TC to use a different wireless network name and different password if you need another wireless network. Otherwise, leave the wireless off on the TC.
