Q: Trouble Finding Canon IR c3220 on network
Hello!
My organization got a donation of a Canon IR c3220 that I am trying to make accessible on the wireless network for everyone, PCs and Macs, to use for wireless printing. I am not super technical, but can figure many things out by trial and error and with clear instruction. I have plugged an ethernet cable from the C1 server box on the back of the printer to our an active port on our network switch (<-- not sure if it's called a switch, it's a big box with 10+ ethernet ports). The current issue is that only one person in the organization who uses a PC is able to find the printer through using the Windows print utility on their machine. The printer does not show up automatically in the list of nearby printers, the user has to select the option that says "My printer is older, help me find it" By clicking that, the printer shows up in that list and they are able to send print jobs wirelessly with no problems. On my Macbook Air, the printer does not show up in the list of Nearby printers and when I try to search by the printer's IP address, it does not recognize it.
Can someone please help me, in as much layman's terms as possible, find out what I can do to help get this printer to be usable on our wireless network for all users?
I was able to print the config page, and I'm assuming I need to make some changes to the network setup, I just need to know where.
As mentioned about there is a server (small white box) on the back of the machine. I believe it to be a C1 server.
