itune purchases gone

I have an old Apple Macbook 2009. All my purchased itunes music is on there. Seeing it was too old to update the latest iTunes, i bought a new Macbook Air. Since buying this new laptop, my whole inbox in Mail is gone on the Cloud as well as my Purchase history on iTunes is gone. I still have all of this stuff on my old laptop however. It is very frustrating that iTunes doesnt have my history of purchases. How do i recover this???
