Notifications stay lit on lock screen when charging

with iOS10 when I get a notification on the lock screen (text, push message etc) when the phone is charging the screen stays lit. My phone is set to turn off the screen in 30 seconds. Any ideas?

Hi DizzG,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it seems like you are receiving notifications while the iPhone is locked, but the lock screen stays lit even after the Auto-Lock time has elapsed.
There are a few things we can try and see if the issue persists.

This first would be to restart the iPhone.

Another would be to change the Auto-Lock time settings to another interval. Check if the issue still persists after this change.

Another thing we can try if it is still having this issue is to reinstall the iOS itself.
You will want to make sure you have a backup too though.

The steps in this following article explain how to reinstall only the iOS version.

iTunes will try to reinstall iOS without erasing your data.
