Q: Tiny font using mail in iOS 10

After updating to iOS10, the font in the body of emails is really small, too small to read.  I have to zoom in, but then I have to scroll left and right to read each line.  Anyone else have this problem?

Restarting your phone has nothing to do with this problem. The whole issue of text size is messed up.

If you increase the text size, your menu will be much larger and your text messages and email will still be very small. Apple totally screw this up. There is no proportion whatsoever between text size and actual size in apps. Shame!

I have the same problem, but not just in emails. The whole issue of text size is messed up.

So they came out with an update yesteday and it did not have a fix for this problem. I think Apple really does not care about the business community apparently.

My fix above is still working for me. Try it again.

Does not work for me.  I tried it just as you wrote it.  I actually tried it a number of times.  Still - all my business emails written in HTML format sent from Outlook program are tiny font.  The size of the font is unaffected by any adjustment in the font size increase in settings.  It's particularly horrible considering 99% of the business emails I get are sent from Outlook in HTML format.

Most of mine are in HTML and sent from outlook as well. I get upwards of 150 work emails per day so I understand.  If you know how to set up your emails without IT then I would suggest deleting the mail app, restarting your phone, and re-downloading it again. iOS 10 allows you to do all of that.

I downloaded MS Outlook app and it is working really well.  I suggest to anyone having this font issue to use MS Outlook in the meantime.  At least Micosoft knows how important business emails are.

I had the same issue. Closing the app and removing from cache and restarting the application solved the problem. Haven't faced any issues since.

How do you "remove" the mail app from "cache"?

What I meant here was removing it from recent apps section, by double-clicking the home button.

I had this issue.  I tried rebooting my iPhone 7 (power and volume down key) 2x's but that didn't work.  I tried adjusting the font in the settings, that didn't work either.  I closed out the mail app and that didn't work.  What actually did end up working was:

    1. close out the mail app
    2. go to settings => mail and turn off the email (just the email not the calendar, notes, etc.)
    3. reboot the phone
    4. go back to settings and turn back on the email account(s)

I hope this works for you because this issue was quite annoying.

phiction4 - thanks, tried your method just now and fonts are still tiny and unreadable. I hope Apple fixes this.
