iCloud on PC maxes out my Hard Drive

My wife has had iCloud drive on her PC for a few weeks now (windows 8). almost immediately we noticed that her HD was maxed out all the time (I assumed that was the sync process) - the problem is that after a few weeks, only 70GB has been sync'd, out of over 100GB (we have a 200GB plan)

i'm assuming a file is 'stuck' in the sync process?

with so many files - how do i determine the issue and 'unstuck' it?

i have at&t uverse and average 45Mb down and 5.5Mb up

thanks

Good Morning, kdpape –

I understand your wife has downloaded iCloud for Windows on her PC with Windows 8, and she is uploading 100 GB of data to it. Can you tell me how she selected which files to upload? Did she choose specific folders, or choose her entire hard drive? Is she using a wired (ethernet) connection or Wi-Fi? A wired connection will be much faster.

The resources below will explain how iCloud Drive works, and what to do if you don't see all of your files at iCloud.com. Since you can sort files in alphabetical order, your wife should be able to compare files and folders on her hard drive with the files that are showing at iCloud.com to see how they match.

What if my files don't update to iCloud?

Check these things first:

If you tried these steps and your files still don’t upload to iCloud:

  1. Stay signed in to iCloud.
  2. Save your updated files to a different folder on your Mac or PC.
  3. Contact Apple Support.

Take care.
