Gift Card Problems

I have made a apple account today so I could use my $25 apple gift card I've received for my birthday. All I wanted to do was buy some music, but instead of just using the gift card, I have to enter my private information? I'm fine creating an apple account with my email, but giving private information like my address? I don't see why there is a need for this! I have android devices and I don't need to give away my private address. This is why I use android not apple, but I'm notwasting $25. I've been trying to buy a single song through my computer for a few hours, searching for answers to my problem, but so far I've found none.

Any solutions?

Enter the required information, or sell the gift card to someone who can use it.

I don't feel comfortable and I don't feel the need to even give that private information away. I don't want to sell my birthday gift.

Then you're kind of stuck. Either you provide the information that Apple requires to set up the account, or you don't use the gift card.

Really? Well that s-u-c-k-s, why is apple so set on having my address, I get it's for billing but why can't they use my email instead?

We are not Apple. We can not address any question as to why Apple's policy is what it is.
