Q: IOS10, star ratings, purchased playlist, iTunes
I'm running IOS10.0.1 on an iPhone 6. I am an Apple Music subscriber. Where are the freekin' star ratings (?!?!?) on the Apple Music app? I have spent a decade meticulously curating my music collection using the provided star ratings. I have a system using all five stars plus one "no star" rating. The star ratings are the basis for my entire music collection. The "Love" "Dislike" rating system now employed is useless and juvenile. It's completely unlike an Apple experience—dumbing down the rating system.
I have 567 items in the "Purchased" list on my Mac's iTunes. On the IOS10 "Purchased" folder it shows 3 songs. This is unacceptable.
In the IOS10 music app, when I tap on the "Recently Played" playlist, the whole thing crashes.
Where is the play count? I want my playlist of "25 most played" to appear on IOS10 and be useful. On the IOS10 music app the "Most Played" playlist crashes the app when tapped and the same playlist on my Mac using iTunes 12.4.3.1 no longer shows the most played songs that have been playing for years. It now shows the most played songs from the last month when I upgraded the iTunes. All that historical data is gone. This is tragic.
On my iTunes on my Mac, I have a smart playlist, "Top 25 Most Played" using this criteria:
Match all media for all of the following rules:
Media kind is not Podcast
Plays is greater than 0
Limit to 25 items selected by most often played
Live updating
But it's not following the criteria. I know I can go to "Get Information" to get a play count for individual songs in ITunes, but that's not a list of the Top 25 Most Played.
I don't know what Apple has done, but it is NOT the iTunes I have used and loved all these years. And now the IOS version is woefully inadequate....when not crashing.
