what is the difference between updating the IOS wireless and updating using itunes

hello all,

i am just wondering what is the difference between updating the IOS wireless and updating using itunes ?

as a friend of me told that updating the IOS using Itunes is better than updating it wirelessly,

can anyone please provide me with more information about this ?

The end result is exactly the same.


When using iTunes, and if your computer is connected to the internet via ethernet cable, it precludes any issues caused by intermittence in the wireless connection.


iTunes will download the entire package for installation, but will expand and process on your computer rather than directly on the iPad, so less free space is needed on the iPad to perform the installation.


Doing it directly on the iPad will mean the iPad only downloads the specific files for the device, so downloads are generally smaller than on iTunes, but the iPad needs to be able to accommodate the download package and its expanded contents. So needs more free space.
