Battery Widget Missing After iOS 10 Upgrade

After upgrading my lPad Pro 9.7" to iOS 10, the battery widget is missing in the Notification Center.

Is this a known problem or has Apple decided that widget is not needed/necessary in iOS 10?

I prefer to not wait for the low battery notification before considering recharging my Pencil.

What does anyone know about this?

  1. Swipe down to launch Notification Center
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the Today tab, until you find Edit and tap on it.
  3. Tap the + symbol in front of Batteries to add the widget. Keep in mind that it will only be available if there are any devices paired to your iPhone.
  4. Once you add the Batteries widget, you can position it as you prefer. Then tap Done at the top right corner.

I went to Settings --> Bluetooth, then deleted everything except my iphone, unplugged the apple pencil, replugged it back in to the lightning port and it connected. Then the battery widget and apple pencil works again.

There was an item called "Accessory" and that might have been what was the Apple Pencil, since it wasn't listed at all.

Thanks!

I think I accidentally found the answer. The battery widget doesn't work unless you have a wireless/bluetooth device turned on--

I opened my iPad, turned it on-- checked the battery widget-- which did not appear.

I left the screen open and turned on my wireless headset. Voila, instant battery widget!

I think it will work with the pencil as well...except I think mine is broken-- BUT, for now, TRY THIS.

Blessings and happy Saturday!~

Yup ... 10.3.3 left the iPad Air 2 battery widget unable to show in notification center. It required the in-install / re-install / reboot sequence to make it appear on my 7 Plus; but, no success with the iPad. It's an Apple bug with the last update before Fall's introduction of iOS 11, so live with it folks. (I suppose a wipe clean, set up as new process might help, but why suffer that because of Apple's failure?)
