Disable iMessage for one contact

My wife has an iPhone and an android based tablet. For the tablet, she has the "Verizon Messages" app, a WiFi App that enables her to send an receive SMSs from her tablet. I have an iPhone as well.

My problem is that since I have an iPhone, when I go to text her, it automatically sends as an iMessage, so she only gets it on her iPhone. She doesn't want to disable iMessage on her phone because other people iMessage her, and since her iPhone is only a 4 and doesn't have airdrop, iMessage is the best way for me to send her pictures.

I've tried quickly tapping on the message and pressing the "Send as Text Message" button but sometimes the iMessage sends so fast that I can't catch it.

I was wondering if there is any way I can disable iMessages to only her, while keeping them alive for everyone else. I'm open to other suggestions as well.

Thanks all!!!

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.3

What address does she receive at with the android tablet? As long as the android receives at a unique address not listed as a valid receive at address under iMessage settings on her iPhone, you should be able to set up a separate contact for just that android address?

If both devices use her Verizon phone number, then you're out of luck though.

Verizon Messages on her tablet uses her iPhone's mobile number.

Imessage can send to any registered phone number or e-mail address. Since she has an android based tablet, I assume its using an email address not a phone number. If she dis-accociates her email address with Imessage she wont get it on her iphone

The OP is texting his wife using her mobile number. Because she's logged into iMessage, the message automatically gets sent as an iMessage. That means, it doesn't go to the tablet. Wife wants to get messages on both devices, which would require that the message get sent as an SMS. The email address really doesn't figure into this one.

This is correct. I guess we're out of luck.
