Upgraded to OS3 on apple watch, and I noticed music app in dock. I didn't want it, but can't get rid of it. iPhone shows in NOT in dock, but watch has it in dock. In trying to get rid of it, I now have 2 music apps in the dock, and I can't get rid of either one of them. Can't swipe up to get rid of them, can't use the phone to get rid of them.
Anyone have the same issue, or know how to get them out of the dock?

I have the fix for when the "now playing" no matter what you do does not come off of the dock. I have restarted the phone and the watch, iv factory reset the watch. I thought i tried everything but then i went to my phones settings, general, background app refresh. I turned off all of my music apps. Restarted the watch and BAM its gone and has been gone since then!!

Thought I read somewhere that music was an unremovable in the dock. I remember trying to get rid of it last fall when I got my watch and either reading on here that it could not be removed or seeing it in the Apple manual that Apple put it there.
You can try going to the Watch App on your iPhone > My Watch > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout.
This should bring you back to the starting point on the layout and possibly delete the duplicate.
I Have the same problem, with the Music and Now Playing showing in the Dock.
This problem was resolved by restarting Apple Watch, Power off and Reboot.
Thanks for the response, but my problem was just on the dock. The app layout only had the one Music App.
That solved it. Thanks. (I had rebooted before, and it didn't work, but did this time). I think once I open music on my phone, it will be back, again, but this is definitely a solution that works.
Apple watch reboot time is dumb slow.
It's back! The music app is back in the dock! I didn't put it there! Why???
I give up. I never listen to music so I guess I just ignore it.
I finally figured this one out. If you open an app not already in the dock it will replace the Music app.
That's because the dock's LAST position always shows the most RECENT app opened that was not selected to be in the dock by the user in the Watch app on the iPhone.
Why did all of us see the Music app after installing Watch OS 3? I'm guessing it was in the "most recent" position of OS3 system that we all downloaded.
A further comment. Note that if you swipe up on any your chosen-for-the-dock apps you'll see a "remove from dock" option but on the RECENT app position you'll see an option to "Keep in Dock".
That didn't work for me. The most recent app is in the dock, but so is the "now playing app", and I can't get rid of it.
Hmmm...So if you have selected, say 5 apps, to be on the dock (doing this in the Watch app on your iPhone) and you open another app, then you have not only the 5 selected apps and the 6th "Recent" app, but also a 7th open app—the Music app?
I've got another thought. If the answer to the above question is "yes", : on your iPhone's Watch app put as many apps in the dock as it allows you to (I think that it's 10) then go back to your watch and open another app to slot it into the RECENT position. Maybe that will force the Music app off your dock.
