There was iOS 9 on my phone and this option was really helpful, for instance lets say I reject incoming call while driving and it was enough just take a look on the screen to check the time and this option could remind me about recent call which was rejected by me. But now I need to go to recent calls list and call back from that list. Which means I need to do more operation in order to get to that list. What was the reason for excluding this option from the current version of iOS? Is there any possibility to get it back? I think it would better if you include / restore this option back in further updates for that iOS. I really regret that I have updated to iOS 10.

The issue is larger than that. I've been searching for answers and this is the first place I found an issue similar to mine. The bigger picture is that no notification are coming through while you are on the call and in a lock screen. I am a truck driver where is expansive IT background . I've owned each model of an iPhone. Since notifications have been introduced into iOS until the current version we were able to view them in the lock screen while on the call but not anymore When I started to beta test iOS 10, around/after beta 3 I noticed that I have been missing messages from my dispatch. I assumed it had to do with iOS being in beta and should get resolved when official version rolls out . We are now in 10.0.2 version of iOS and the issue has not been fixed. I have contacted Apple for troubleshooting as it is pretty dangerous for a truck driver to drive and browse our phone looking for messages from DISPATCH . Because they don't disp on the lock screen while in the call. I was sent to Apple store and at the store after troubleshooting my phone they ended up swapping my device. When I checked my iOS version on a new phone it is 9.3.2. My messages are back to showing on the lock screen while I am on a call. I tested my wife's phone which is updated to latest iOS and she does not receive messages while in call on the lock screen either. Hence it's a software issue. It's not just messages it's also missed calls and other notification that are not coming through which will eventually lead to people browsing through their phones while driving . try it yourself, have someone call you and then send you a text while you are on a lockled screen. We need to spread the word and emphasize this issue with Apple so it gets noticed and hopefully there will be resolved. In a mean time I'm grateful to Apple for swapping my device for brand new one with 9.3.2 installed and withou that problem.

I have the same question. In iOS 9, you could just slide to the right to call back. In iOS 10, first you have to unlock your iPhone, after that go to recent calls and call back.

Plus, fYuriYos is right. There are no notifications on the lock screen during calls.

And one more thing: If you are replying (text message) from your lock screen and someone calls you, text is gone. In iOS 9, text was still in Messages app.

As I see Apple is not going to fix that issue - today I have upgraded iOS 10 to iOS 10.0.2 and nothing is changed. So I think the only way is downgrade iOS 10 to iOS 9. It is not so easy as it should be but either I need to wait for the next update where all these issues sorted out ( hard to believe) or use this version and "thank" the " very smart people" who decided to exclude these options from iOS - whenever I reject the incoming calls due to some reasons..

I have the same problem! fYuriYos explained exactly what is happening. I have iPhone 6S. If the phone is 'in awakened mode' and a call comes through, the option is displayed to answer using text messages. But if the phone is locked - I only get an icon that looks like a clock that says 'remind me.' I can't immediately let the person calling know by text that I'll call back or in a meeting, etc. It's annoying and showed up with iOS 10 upgrade. Another problem that has not been fixed with iOS 9 or iOS 10 is the calendar reminder alert. Before iOS 9, we could set a reminder a few days out and a second reminder maybe not on the day of the event. If you set a second alert, then try to set another one, it wipes it out and adds the same day. I have searched apple help and no fix works. They didn't even fix it with iOS 10!
