I am sick of Safari not working. I am constantly being asked to update Safari. My computer says I am current with the updates. I always have to get out of Safari and log back in with Firefox anytime I want to click on something on FB

How do I fix Safari? Tired of it. Why doesn't it update with regular updates?

Gees... now I have to select communities and categories.... how about just letting me ask a simple question?

Everything has to be so difficult with Apple.

Your Mac may be current for the OS X that it's running now, 10.6.4 according to your profile but the only way to update Safari to the latest version possible is to upgrade your Mac.

See if your Mac meets El Capitan requirements > Upgrade to OS X El Capitan - Apple Support

Safari can only run the latest version possible 5.1.1 for Snow Leopard v10.6.

With El Capitan installed, you would have Safari 9.1.3 installed.

You need at least 10.9 Mavericks to get the version of Safari considered acceptable for encryption, which is (indirectly) what all those sites are complaining about.

The version of Firefox currently available to you is on its last update (EVER) as of August. If a dangerous flaw is found in it, it will stop being acceptable as well.

Your Mac has become a victim of the rate of change of things on the Internet. It is no fault of yours. If you want to be welcomed on many web sites, you will need a more modern MacOS.
