Few keys on Macbook keyboard are not working

Hi,

I have Macbook 2012 model with OSX El Captian running. Keys f, g, h, j, k, l are not working. At first when I hit those keys several times, they used to work but now they are not working completely. I ran AHT test and it says there is no hardware problem. I have hit the option 5 times but it wouldn't help either. I noticed when hit 'd' key and hold, keys f-l are working. Please help me to fix this issue. Keyboard replacement looks expensive.

Regards,

Phalgun

Hey Phalgun,

Thanks for being a part of Apple Support Communities.

It appears from your post that a line of keys from F to L are not working properly on your MacBook Pro. What I'd like you to do is please use the Keyboard Viewer on your Mac to verify that the keys are not being recognized on your Mac:

OS X El Capitan: Use the Keyboard Viewer

If the issue persists, then please reset your NVRAM-- How to Reset NVRAM on your Mac --and report back with your findings.

Cheers.
