I Just recently updated to iOS 10 and I noticed a major flaw/issue. When ever I get a message with an effect the notification in the banner or on the lock screen it only shows the effect. In the image below I sent myself "test" once and the following is what I receive (3x the amount of messages I sent). I would appreciate any responce.
iPhone specs:
- iPhone 6s
- IOS 10.0.1
- 16 GB
- Carrier= Verizon

Check Settings > Notifications > Messages > Show in Notification Center = "On" and
Settings > Notifications > Messages > Show on Lock Screen = "On"
I checked it, it was on. 😐
I'm missing what it is that you are expecting. I realize that maybe you do not want to have received it 3 times, but what is missing from the notification? Are you expecting a preview? Is Preview turned on in Notifications for Messages?
Try reading my post. I said I sent myself test and that's what I received in message, but in the notification i get the effects in place of the message. The message is far more important to see on your lockscreen not the effect it was sent with.
I did. Your subject says you only show the effect. Then you state in the text that you see the text 3 times. I was only asking for clarification for what the problem was that you were looking to get answered. I'll not participate if you wish.
