Q: Cannot delete app

I recently upgraded to iOS10 on my iPhone 6+. Before I downloaded it, my phone prompted me that I was low on storage and it would delete a few apps and re-install them once the iOS10 was finished installing. Everything went smoothly, my deleted apps reappeared and I could use them without any problems. However, my Facebook app was greyed out, it said "waiting". Eventually, "waiting" disappeared, but the app was greyed out.. I can't open the app. I click on it and the x is there to delete, it prompts me to see if I really want to delete it. I click delete, and it will not go away. I've tried resetting, doing a hard reset and nothing. I've went to general, storage, and Facebook isn't in the list of apps. I search the App store for Facebook and my only option is to open the app. I click on open, nothing happens. I have tried signing in and out of the app store, nothing. I have tried to go into the app store, click purchased and again, Facebook is there but  I can't open the app. I have tried doing these things on wifi, and data (LTE). It's very frustrating. I have also plugged my iphone into iTunes..the facebook app appears and if I click on "install" it changes to "will install" and I sync and nothing happens, again. I have also tried reseting all settings. What else can I do?

The following steps should help clean things up. They assume that all of the content you want on the device is in your library ready for restoring. If it isn't see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device first. I would also recommend you copy everything out of the camera roll if you haven't already.

    1. Backup device.
    2. Restore as a new device.
    3. Restore the backup you made earlier.

Use an encrypted backup if you want to preserve passwords, wi-fi settings, web history and health data where appropriate.
