Powerpoint assistance

I have force quit my powerpoint multiple times and each time I open a powerpoint doc it reloads many additional decks and will not allow me to close. I am unable to edit these decks as well as it seems it is frozen. I have also gone to the preference center and tried there as well. Please assist
