Q: Inward emails addressed to my gmail address are going into my Archive folder

I am receiving emails addressed to my gmail address, going into my Archive folder.  I don't think this is the norm and I do not recall altering any settings to allow this.  Appreciate input to put right.

    Howdy Boyjohn,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

I understand from your post that all emails are coming in to your Gmail's Archive folder. When you take a look at gmail.com, do you see the emails in Archived or in your Inbox? If they're in your Inbox, then let's go ahead and rebuild the mailbox in Mail:

    Take care.

    Hello Joe,

I composed an answer to you, but I don't think I sent it off.  Anyway, many thanks for your answer.  I found a thread later on (Jan 10 2014) and I quote.  It appears to have fixed my problem.  "I found a solution on another thread: Go to Gmail Settings > Labels and uncheck the 'Show in IMAP' checkbox next to "All Mail." Once I did this all the messages repaired in my inbox.  I have copied an pasted your message just in case I have to revisit the problem.

    Cheers
