I Can't update my iphone 4 to ios 10. the update is not showing up on the updates when I look on the aofware update. Why can't I update the software??

From my iPhone 6 but not happy I can't update my 4
If iPhone 4 couldn't support iOS 8 or 9 how do you think it can support iOS 10 your iPhone will lag like really really really badly
If you want iOS 10 get an iPhone 5 but with iOS 11 coming you better of getting iPhone 5s or SE or 6 and over

I imagine that, in the 10 months since this thread was active, the original poster has come to terms with the answers given to them back then.
Only iPhone 5 and later can run the iOS 10 software. If you are running 9.3.5 currently then you have a 4S - not a 4 as your profile says.
you can't upgrade the 4S and many other older devices either, it lacks the hardware necessary for what iOS 10 was designed to do, its also Apples way to getting you to buy a new phone
