How to get iOS 10 Mail to display dates instead of days of week?

Given the great number of mails that many of us receive, I for one would much prefer seeing the actual date of any mail (and thread) as opposed to yesterday, Wednesday, Tuesday... all the way back to a week ago, before the date is finally shown.

Is there a way to change the display setting? If so, I would be most grateful for any and all enlightenment!
