Q: Using Siri on iOS10 to make Skype calls

Dear all,

Has anybody managed to get Siri to make a Skype call on an iPhone with iOS10? It was supposed to be one of the examples of Siri third-part app integration and while I can now use Siri to send WhatsApp messages etc, when I try asking it to make a Skype call, it tells me that Skype has not set that up yet. I contacted Skype who told me to contact Apple, who told me to contact Skype.

Has anybody managed to get this working yet? Or is it something which will be implemented in a new update of the Skype app?

iPhone 6s, iOS 10

I'd say it's most likely that Skype needs to release an update that uses the new Callkit and Siri integration- their existing app would have no way to even know about the new features, never mind how to actually use them.

For now all we can do is wait for Skype/Microsoft to hurry up and release the next version.

Skype for iPhone was last updated on Aug 22, so it obviously wouldn't be able to make use of that feature, and makes no claims that it does. As previously indicated, it is on Skype to update the app.

Skype for Business has no claims it works with Siri either.
