icloud password issue

icloud password issue

hey guys I have the following issue and appreciate your help

when I try to go to system preferences and change my iclould settings it asks me for my password - which is fine I enter it, I can see that it shows me the storage information of what I have left (i recently upgraded to 200gb) but then it appears to log me out and says verify the Apple ID password for ...... I enter it and then it asks again ;(

Am I doing something wrong? thanks again guys

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

Can you log in at appleid.apple.com without problems?

thanks guys, yes have tried the applei.apple.com and no problems, but this has been happening for perhaps 2 months and just on the macbook air

any other ideas?

Actually Eric I logged out of iCloud and back in on the mac and it seems to have worked, although now when i go to my iCloud drive on the mac I don't see all my documents and uploaded folders although still see them on ipad

ah the mysteries of apple 🙂
