Q: First Time Apple Customer Not Happy With Support

I got my ipod in may as a mothers day gift from my boyfriend and my children. I was extremly happy was a 32gb ipod 6 and it was Gold my favourite color. I was A proud owner of my very first Apple owned product. 4 months later i picked up my ipod and was unable to touch it everything worked fine on the screen my alarm clock went off in the morning on charger. the home button and sleep button worked i was unable to touch it. I figure no biggie i can call apple theres still a warrenty on it. I call apple thats where the problems started becomming more and more. They sent me a box on thruday which they got my first name spelt wrong and my postal code wrong. I had to show ups all my id. with my correct name because the signature was christina not kirstina anywho friday i called apple after  asked why i didnt get an email saying the box was shipped and told them  The First person who i filed with got my email wrong and my name etc . The 2nd guy was fantastic he fixed up email address and sent me the repair id in email so i can check the status of it. Anywho i think it went into spam and deleted because i didnt see in my inbox. I called tuesday to see what my repair id so i can check it i was informed that certin things needed to be relaced the screen 2nd screen and sensor cable i think that what the cable called and i wasnt gonna get billed. i said ok awesome she instructed me to call back evening . i called back and asked where my email was or if they can give me my case id because i still got no email. The guy i spoke to ended up calling repair and they said they would email. I got frustrated and i told them listen this is my first apple product so far i been getting the run around and im not a happy customer about this. The next day i get the email of my repair and said was declined do to misuse or physical damage. i was furious.. I sent my ipod in cuz was working fine then the touch screen stopped responding i always had the ipod in a case and ive never jail broke it. This was my first apple product for the price my boyfriend payed you think i get better service. No I went thru hastles from thursday til about tuesday or wednesday to find out i been declined. I dont care that they didnt fix it im more mad how i was treated and got the run around.

    That's  positively no fun.  ANd I'm just speaking as a  fellow user, Apple doesn't really respond here, so I have no magic fix it although I do feel your frustration.

     

    However, do you have an apple store or authorized service provider near by? The reason I ask is, anecdotally, people tend to have better experiences in person than they do by mail.

     

    If that's not an option then I would suggest calling back and request to talk to a supervisor. Just keep kicking it up the chain of command.
