iPad web data will not clear
My wife has had a new iPad Air 2 for about a month, and we've upgraded it to the latest version (10) of iOS. Last night, she used Safari to search for something on the History Channel Web site. When she'd finished, up popped a box congratulating her: She been chosen to receive a $1,000 gift card. Imagine that ... . I got that nuisance to go away, and I went to Settings to clear her Web data. That's when I discovered another problem.
In Settings —> Safari, I tapped "Clear History and Website Data." Then I tapped on "Advanced —> Website Data" and saw a single item, "jalopnik.com." I then tapped "Remove All Website Data." However, jalopnik.com refused to go away. I've tried over and over—I also restarted the iPad—but nothing would make it disappear.
I visited the site (something about cars I've never heard of), and I know it's nothing that my wife has any interest in. I think something sneaky is going on—something potentially malicious. How do I deal with this?
