When I'm listening to music, specifically inside a specific album, and I tap on the pink band name, normally, it would take me to the list of all albums from that band. In iOS 10, nothing happens. Though I am able to tap the name and it changes color, it's just a dead button. Could this just be my phone, or does everyone have that issue?
Tapping the artist name works fine for me. It takes you to the Artist page in iTunes.
Try a forced restart: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the restart.
I probably should have mentioned that it's been doing this since the first public beta. I have definitely restarted many times, as well as closed. I don't know why I didn't report it I. The beta feedback. Guess I was hoping someone else would, or it was just a broken beta link.
Kilgore-Trout, are you on Apple Music subscription? Does clicking that take you to apple music, or to within your own library?
Yes, I have an Apple Music subscription. When I click on the Artist name, it takes me to the iTunes page for that artist.
Since you have had an issue since the public beta, you probably need to do a full restore of the device, making sure you are going to 10.0.1
Interesting. Maybe it's meant as an apple music artist link, rather than a library artist link. I am currently on 10.0.1, but am about to go get my iPhone 7. Hopefully that will fix the issue, or possibly create new ones.
Just tried my wife's phone who was not on beta, and hers does the same thing as well. Looks like it is only an apple music link, rather than the old library link. I wish it could be double, like if apple music is off or you're not subscribed, it uses your library. Seems like there are a lot more taps to be made in the version of music.
