iPhone 7 animation lag...

Just picked up my iPhone 7 32GB.. Noticed a lagg when opening and closing a app for the first time.

When i press the home button and open the app again all goes smooth..
Already talked to Apple support, they suggested to restore to factory with IOS 10.0.1 and not to restore any backups.
Just did that, still lagg... Bit disappointment, my iPhone 6 was smoother..

Anybody else this issue? Must be! Check it out really good, I think this is gonne be reported alot!

iPhone 7, iOS 10, null

Yes I agree. Yesterday I tested 6s and 7 together and 6s is smoother. This fact is also confirmed by other people. Hopefully, the situation will be better with ios 10.3 ... This is the first time that the latest software does not work well with the latest hardware. :-( Maybe it's the wrong switching between pairs of processor cores .... ??? In some cases, my iphone is very smooth, but little is heated and loses a percentage of the battery.

It could be the cores, or could be the advent of more than 1Gb of ram.

I am a long time android user (since when devices were equipped with 512mb ram) and android Os has kind of found the formula to smooth experience even in low ram, though now more ram (>2gb) guarantee smoothest experience.

I have just bought a 6s plus 128Gb (TSMC version). iOS 9.0.2 out of the box, the lag issue was present even in the home screen animation when scrolling through the list of apps, lol. This was like i am using a 1Gb ram Android 4.4. The lags and stutters were even worse in non-Apple apps like Path, it scrolls like a 512mb ram Android 4.2.

Then i have just upgraded the 6s plus 128 to iOS 10.2. The system lags get fixed but not 100%, still annoying though thinking that I am holding a $1k, branded, s-labeled device that scored 130k on antutu. The lags and stutters are still present in non-Apple apps, lesser in Apple apps.

So, First I am really disappointed with Apple just because of the lags and stutters that once ever happened on android os while in the same years never in iOs.

Second, i wish the devs found the "project butter" for iphone.

Guys, I'm huge Nit-Picker and Animation lagg/chopiness are killing my iOS experience.
I finally found solution.

Wallpapers! It is all caused by wallpapers even "stock" that came with iOS.
You have to find out which wallpapers cause the problem with animations.
Example, for me every wallpaper from paper.co app makes animation so laggy!
But from Zedge wall app, 90% are ok.

Try this.

I confirm all backgrounds Apple stock, creating lag animations, animated backgrounds just do not give problems, even many photos taken with the rear camera create lag, you have to find the right zoom to not have problems, photo with the front camera, no problem.

iOS 10.3 fixed the infamous home button animation lag on iPhone 7. It also fixes lags during scrolls. There's no lag anymore when you open Siri and swipe up to open control center. Before, it was so laggy because of too many transparencies.

just updated my 7plus and the lag and frame drop is improved but not gone, you can see it in calendar year view and in setting in cellular submenu where a long list of apps is available! it frustrating that in games like real racing it has frame drop issue and can't hold 30fps either!

New Iphone 7 128gb on iOS 10.3.2 I can also see a lag only while going to home screen when apple app is open. But the worst is when I have mail open and go to home screen.

Ive already tried formatting and start as new iphone instead of restoring from backup, but problem is exactly the same!

Any else with same problem on same version?

I have a similar but slightly different issue on my iPhone 7. Every time I close an app, the animation lags badly and it's annoying. All other animations, including the app opening animation, are fine. I originally restored from a backup, but I tried restoring to normal factory settings, and it made no difference. My iPhone 5 has no lag issues when opening and closing apps in iOS 10.

OMG! Me too!!!! I'm about to pop by the local Mac store to check it out...it's so freaking annoying. My iPhone5s doesn't even lag lol...
Also this morning I had issues activating my phone + updating apps because it keeps saying cannot connect to iTunes but my net is fine!
