Recently I recieved a HDMI cable that connects my iPhone 6 to my television through the charger port. I have visual but the audio is completely messed sounds stuttery and jumpy and annoying. It also displays a message at the bottom of the screen sayin "error# airplay codec error!" I can't seem to come to terms with it at all? I'm using ios 10 if that helps. Any help is appreciated as I can't seem to do anything

My guess is that the HMDI cable / HDTV charger port interface is the issue.
To rule out your iPhone, have you tried streaming audio/video to an Apple TV or another AirPlay-ready device? If so, and was successful then the iPhone would not be the problem
No as I don't have Apple TV. I tried a different phone on the cable and got same result and thought it might be to do with settings. Just find it strange that the picture is perfect but sound is heartbreaking
If you tried it with another phone, then again, it must be the interface you are trying to use does not support AirPlay properly.

I had same problem. The solution is firmware update for iOS10.
Maybe, you can find URL address like http://192.10.203.1(just example, it's different by manufacturer) on TV screen(HDMI mode) when your HDMI cable connected.
- your iPhone connected, too. no airplay mode on yet
And, open safari, key in the address. so, you can find update(or upgrade) menu.
After update progress, your device will re-start and solve your problem.

it worked just fine until I updated to iOS 10!
I Got it working I downloaded an app called EZCast and downloaded a firmware update and then it worked fine for me after that!
