I suggest: Power Down, Log in, Launch AppStore, end AppStore, launch AppStore a second time.
I just bought my son an SE yesterday. AppStore not working right:
- An app (LastPass) was missing from the home screens this morning. I'd installed it last night. I thought maybe my son had deleted it, so I went to the AppStore to download it again, and found it didn't have a "Get" or download link. What it had was the "Open" link and that was disabled.
- AppStore has rejected a valid iCloud password about half the time when installing apps. It usually works on the second or third try. There were no typing errors; I was copying and pasting the password from LastPass into AppStore, or from an iOS Note into AppStore.
- AppStore Search doesn't find any apps, but the suggested and related search lists do populate. If I click on a suggested search it runs it and finds no results. If I click on a related search, the search box disappears entirely, leaving me with a blank screen and a keyboard and the only way to navigate to other parts of AppStore is to press the backspace key enough times to erase the (invisible) search term. Then the search box comes back into view, the keyboard goes away, revealing the navigation icons at the bottom of AppStore.
- I tried deactivating restrictions in general settings, but it didn't make search work.
- I powered down the phone and restarted it. After that I found in AppStore that LastPass had a download link which worked, leaving LastPass functioning normally.
- Then I ended AppStore (double-click home and swipe AppStore window up), and on my next AppStore launch I found search was finally working. Strange that a power down didn't fix AppStore search, but an app end/restart did.
- I haven't installed other things, so I can't say yet if AppStore is reliably processing the iCloud password or not.
