Q: Mail font size to small to read

I have an i-Phone 5 that was just updated to ios 10. The text size in incoming new mail is so small that it is totally unreadable. If I zoom in on the message the text becomes large enough to read but then you have to scroll back and forth to follow a line of text. Before updating the text size was fine. Anyone have a solution to this? It's virtually unusable as-is.

OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2010)

Hi. Unfortunately there is no way to change just the font in Mail on iOS 10, however you can change the size of fonts across the entire OS. If you go to Settings---> General ---> Accessibility ---> Larger Text. From there you can turn on this feature. You can then adjust the size of the font across iOS 10. Refer to this article for more information:

    Hope this helps

Thanks for the feedback. I was seriously considering reverting back to the previous iOS. Probably will if I can't reasonably fix this issue.

I had the same issue.. try restarting (off/on) your phone.. that fixed the issue for me.

Thanks for this suggestion. I tried the restart from total phone shut down. It did help significantly but the font size is still not back to normal.

Ok glad it helped. If the font size is still not back to normal or large enough, now that you have restarted the phone, you can try: Settings > Display & Brightness > Text Size (and increase it one or two levels). Good luck and hopefully Apple releases an update to iOS-10 soon to fix this issue for everyone.

This morning I again did a total shutdown and restart of the iPhone. Some email comes in normal size, others smaller, but none as small as right after installing iOS 10. I've decided to stick with iOS 10 and maybe they'll be an improved update(?). If not, I can live with this.

P.S. - I tried clicking "solved" on your last post but the system won't let me, I guess because I'd already selected your first post as "helpful". I guess there's a limit to how helpful you can be.

I'm glad I could help!  I'm sure that we aren't the only one's experiencing this issue.. so hopefully we'll get an update from Apple soon.  Unfortunately when companies (not just Apple but also Microsoft and Google) release new software, they are so focused on the new features that they lose sight of the "core" applications and features.  This is a perfect example.  How could they forget to test Mail thoroughly in a new release like iOS-10 when Mail is very much a "core" app and so important to so many users..

No, you aren't! Same problem and searched for hours.  Only thing to do is waiting for an update.  They do not car much of people with ageing eyes

I with ya with the aging eyes, but I'm sure this is just one of those quirks that didn't get detected in the beta versions. Still, it'd been good to not have to deal with it. I guess it keeps our trouble shooting skills sharp.
