What is the use of the full screen button in Apple Notes?

In Apple Notes (landscape mode) when I use the full screen button (which hides the folders/notes list) I don't see more text. I expected to see more text because there is more screen space available. Instead, the whole text is moved a bit to the left.

So, what is the use of the full screen button in Apple Notes?

iPad Air, iOS 9.3.2

I saw your question and did some experimenting and found that any notes that I had already created, but I wanted to add text to in full screen mode, would only allow me to type the text to wherever the right margin was on the original note and then the text would wrap to the next line. That seemed like a huge waste of space on the screen.

Then I invoked the drawing tools and found that if I drew an image all the way across my screen, that allowed me to type text matching the width of the image.

I have no idea if that information is useful, but that's what I came up with.

I Should have clarified. The drawing will not expand the entire width of the screen when you have it in full screen, only in the normal view. But you do have to draw the lines, shapes, etc, the entire width when in full screen. It seems to allow you to type longer lines of text.

Experiment and see if you see the same.
