Taken delivery of my iPhone 7 today, thinking that I could live with the adaptor that came in the pack for converting ordinary headphones to lightning.
However, plugged my beats headphones in, and found out that the in-line controls don't work!
Anybody got a set that works, ore are we all going to be stuck with expensive headphones that only have half the functionality?

You can't plug a 3.5 mm plug into that. And why should the OP have to buy a $50 dongle to be able to control something that the dongle that came with the phone should be able to do? Obviously a software/firmware issue that Apple/Beats must address.
Apple has today released an update (10.0.2) for iOS, which addresses an issue that could affect headphone audio controls.
