Q: Very slow typing on iOS10

After updating to iOS 10 on my iPhone 6, the typing in any app is extremely slow. The keyboard seems to freeze and then all that you typed appears at once. This is happening in every app, from safari to iMessage. It is impossible to type in any circumstance. I searched online but didn't find anyone with the same issue.

Everything that I could do has been done, like turning it off and on, reset (holding all buttons), uninstalling keyboards.

My iPhone 6 have plenty of memory available.

I hope someone here have a solution!

Thanks and all the best!

What usually works in this situation is resetting the keyboard dictionary. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Keyboard Dictionary. You will lose any information that auto-correction has learned about your typing habits, so it may take a day or two for it to learn them again.

Have done all the steps too! I think it is a fault with bug in restore point with iTunes. Restoring from cloud was level 2 suggestion but that didn't work. Help

Did that too, I type fast and it does lag behind, comes in waves from behind from the buffer... why upgrading to ios10 if it makes things worst or is it a way for Apple to force us to get a faster device??  BUG

The only solution I found was to completely reset my iPhone. Not the ideal but I needed to solve this fast.
The good side: my iPhone is super fast.

There is a bug in the software somewhere and I know 3 others with this problem.

I Have found a workaround of installing Swift Keyboard and using that rather than the standard Apple keyboard. solves the problem  until Apple come up with a fix.

That is actually a pretty clever solution Antony.

Unfortunately I did not think about it before resetting my iPhone.

Anyway, I will consider this problem as solved!

    Two related problems:

    1. SOmetimes the '.?123' doesn't respond at all. (In Evernote, I can fix this temporarily by exiting and reentering a note; maybe something similar works in other apps.)
    2. SOmetimes the shift key sticks for two characters -- as in these two list items.

(And of course we must all bow to the new spell checker, for as @edumg wrote "… the problem still happiness.")

Thank you - Swift Key seems to have solved the problem on 6S iOS 10.0.2

The problem is getting worse; the regular keyboard is now basically unusable. (I'll submit on http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html.)

Exiting and entering a note stopped working as a fix; exiting and entering the app didn't help; force-quitting the app didn't help. Restarting got things back to the VERY POOR normal for now.

I've reluctantly switched to Swift Key -- reluctantly because now I have to spend a lot of effort training that spellchecker; I need to remember to turn that off when entering passwords; and other reasons.

This is NOT just in 3rd-party apps. As noted above, related problems occur when posting in Safari.
