Very slow typing on iOS10

After updating to iOS 10 on my iPhone 6, the typing in any app is extremely slow. The keyboard seems to freeze and then all that you typed appears at once. This is happening in every app, from safari to iMessage. It is impossible to type in any circumstance. I searched online but didn't find anyone with the same issue.

Everything that I could do has been done, like turning it off and on, reset (holding all buttons), uninstalling keyboards.

My iPhone 6 have plenty of memory available.

I hope someone here have a solution!

Thanks and all the best!

As someone stated this seems to be very much related to the iCloud settings, I experienced this with an iphone 6 and and iPad Air, both got extremely laggy in iOS 10. I even went to the Apple store due to how bad it was they found nothing wrong with the device after doing diagnostics. I gave up thinking it was device arthritis after upgrade to new OS, finally thinking maybe new devices would help. It did until I changed my iCloud setting a few days ago...

Decided to downgrade cloud storage and my keyboards on both my iPhone 7 and my iPad pro performance tanked. Reset settings, deleted apps, reset phone lag still came back, logged off of cloud and back in and right now seems that performance is back to normal. This really only effects the primary owner of the Apple account other member of my family has older device and no issues. Pretty disappointing if this is what it is regardless, I feel it being a technical issue that has caused this much pain and really lack of support from official channels probably means I will no longer be buying Apple products.

also have same problem...both on iPhone 7 PLUS and iPad Pro 9.7. running released 10.3.1 and 10.3.2

keyboards virtually unusable. has been going on for several weeks. have tried several workarounds to no avail.

would really like an official response from Apple.... and was hoping that 10.3.2 released yesterday would fix...but actually seems to have made it worse.

Two related problems:

  1. SOmetimes the '.?123' doesn't respond at all. (In Evernote, I can fix this temporarily by exiting and reentering a note; maybe something similar works in other apps.)
  2. SOmetimes the shift key sticks for two characters -- as in these two list items.

(And of course we must all bow to the new spell checker, for as @edumg wrote "… the problem still happiness.")

The problem is getting worse; the regular keyboard is now basically unusable. (I'll submit on http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html.)

Exiting and entering a note stopped working as a fix; exiting and entering the app didn't help; force-quitting the app didn't help. Restarting got things back to the VERY POOR normal for now.

I've reluctantly switched to Swift Key -- reluctantly because now I have to spend a lot of effort training that spellchecker; I need to remember to turn that off when entering passwords; and other reasons.

This is NOT just in 3rd-party apps. As noted above, related problems occur when posting in Safari.
