Oct 14, 2016 12:46 PM in response to Jaalwineby polling ,Ok
This will be a long post but i think i found a fix for this issue
I purchased an iphone 7 plus 256 gb three weeks ago
Like everyone here i got the dropped calls and GPS issues. when i left the apple store the phone did not connect to any networks. i returned the same day. They spotted the VPN slider going back and forth. They got that to strop and i was able to connect to AT&T Network. The next day i still had the dropped calls. I then went to my carrier and they notified me that the wrong IMEI was being used. Stating apple shouldve updated the IMEI when they swapped out the new phone. They swapped out a new sim and updated the IMEI. figured i was on my way. The next day i got the dropped calls and the slow GPS. Went back to the Apple Store they swapped out my phone for a new Iphone 7 Plus new SIM Card now im on my way. The next day dropped phone calls again. A Call into Apple Care Resulted in 4 Dropped calls just to finish the call. They reserved a spot for me at my local apple store and i downgraded to a 6s Plus. This made for my 4th phone in 5 Days. Obviously being frustrated over the drop calls. An apple manager told me it might be a software update that might resolve the issue. I kept monitoring sites like these looking for developments regarding software updates. I went into the apple store after seeing people saying beta updates was resolving the issue. Went to the store to pickup a new 7 and after explaining my issues to a rep he ask me what kind of case i was using? Not understanding what he was saying. He mentioned to me with the antenna shift anything metallic would cause a drop call or issue with the GPS. Hoping for anything that could work. I got a new case from apple for free and i tested the phone with the new case and im proud to say NO DROPPED CALLS or GPS.
I know it sounds silly but make sure you check your cases. After i changed cases i have not had a single issue, I'm convinced that my issue was caused by the cases i was using with my phone. Just wanted to share

Oct 14, 2016 12:55 PM in response to pollingby tcre,My case is completely plastic, also happens to me without a case. I think maybe your new replacement phone just happened to be one without the issue. Doubt its the antenna design.

Oct 14, 2016 1:08 PM in response to pollingby toninog3,Definitely not the case issues, I used my one without case, with Apple own leather case and with silicone case, absolutely no difference, the phone is just not able to hold a signal and once switch to 3G can't connect to 4G unless restarted . It's a pure software problem plus hardware fault with components and or design. Let see iOS 10.1 when comes out if will fix the problems for most of us , if not the iPhone 7 is dead for me and I am getting 6s instead.

Oct 15, 2016 8:06 AM in response to Jaalwineby Denny787,They offered me to replace it with a new 7 but who knows if the newer phone are not affected.
Better to go for a 6s at the moment.

Oct 15, 2016 8:57 AM in response to Denny787by Pelon1,Apple has already replaced my phone, and it did not resolve the issue. I still have trouble connecting to 4G LTE service.

Oct 15, 2016 8:59 AM in response to Pelon1by Denny787,Is your issue a poor signal on 4g or you just can't connect?

Oct 15, 2016 3:05 PM in response to Denny787by toninog3,Did you get the 6s and does it comes loaded with iOS 10 or 9? If running iOS 10 are they any poor signal problems like with the 7? Thanks

Oct 16, 2016 10:16 AM in response to toninog3by pchappy19,I updated to the beta 3 a few days ago and it fixed the problem. I have a iphone 7 256 GB with Verizon.

Oct 16, 2016 12:52 PM in response to Pelon1by toninog3,I had enough with my iPhone 7 and decided to change the phone with iPhone 6s, just got today new one directly from Apple Store , it came with iOS 10.0.1, and so far has no issues. That makes me think that the problem is not with the software but with the iPhone 7 internals or design, will test it for a week and see how its behaving.

Oct 16, 2016 1:33 PM in response to toninog3by Gregrstone,Myself and others have found that the beta 3 version of iOS 10 has complete solved the issue with the iPhone 7. That would confirm that the problem was software not hardware or an internal problem with the 7.

Oct 16, 2016 2:37 PM in response to Gregrstoneby toninog3,NO doubt here there is something wrong with the software too, but why in most older iPhones ios 10 works fine but not with iPhone 7? Sometimes hardware problems can be fix with software updates for which we all hope but sometimes not. iPhone 7 has different antennas design and intel chip inside, iPhone 6 got better signal in all reviews and tests on the web you can find. Also very surprised that no one of all reviewers has found this issue and make a video regarding that problem. ,!? In some countries 4G LTE it's very rare or non so ppl there will never notice any trouble with the handset, also people that do not travel often may not notice too, if they use the phone for calls messages and social media mostly but never as a sat nav. let see the official iOS 10.1 update will it bring the change we need so everyone with iPhone 7 can enjoy better experience. I am happy now that I have a phone that works straight out of the box and I can relay on it as a tool for work and entertainment, and not a useless peace of technology.

Oct 16, 2016 2:52 PM in response to toninog3by Denny787,I did install 10.1 beta 3 and nothing has changed. They're gonna give a new one next week as the replacement can't be done in different countries.
Also, how's your battery? Mine makes a day with the battery cover.
This is just nonsense, my 6s made two days.

Oct 16, 2016 3:28 PM in response to Denny787by Gregrstone,I live in the US with Verizon as a carrier and have the 128 GB iPhone 7. None of the fixes listed on this thread worked for me including a replacement phone from Verizon. The phone would drop from LTE to 3G and sometimes 1x or no service in areas that have always had strong LTE on my previous 6S. This was happening often and was very frustrating. I too was going to go back to the 6s out of frustration. Since updating to the beta 3 software about five days ago the phone has never lost LTE. As far as battery life, I have noticed an improvement since the beta 3 software update. It is holding better than my 6s. I could not say that before the beta 3, probably because of the LTE signal problem and the battery drain looking for service.

Oct 16, 2016 3:28 PM in response to Denny787by toninog3,Hi, my battery was fine, just same as previous iPhone 6/6s no more and no less, I think only major upgrade regarding battery was from 5s to 6 where 6 has much better battery life. The only problem I have with i7 is the poor signal, battery and anything else just like the old 6/6s
