Oct 16, 2016 3:41 PM in response to toninog3by jd2020,People, For anyone who hasn't the time to review the whole thread: Good news! It seems that iOS 10.1 public beta 3 solves the signal problems with affect the Verizon (and Sprint? + other CDMA?) iPhone 7.
Thank you to everyone who’s related experience with the 10.1 PB3. It sounds promising.
There’s so much frustration in this forum! If you have an Apple Watch, try using the Breath app. If not, just set a timer for 2 or 3 min, and breath.
Like many here, I'm upset by the signal problem with the iPhone 7. But ranting here won't solve anything, especially as some of the comments come from very poor or incorrect information. Additionally, Apple doesn't typically respond here; thinking that shouting will improve the chances is silly. The situation is very complicated. So much so that Apple and Verizon (and others) weren't yet able to correct this -- even now. If you think they aren't trying to fix this, then you should count yourself among the mis-informed.
Mr Toningon3, your assessment that fault lies with iPhone 7 hardware is not likely correct. The iOS 10 running on your 6s is different from the build on the iPhone 7. Each type of device has different components from RAM to CPU to radios. The radios chipsets in the iPhone 7 are not the same as the 6s or 6 or SE. The code they run is different. Maybe a little different, maybe a lot. Hard to say.
Regarding signal strength, I don't know what reviews you're talking about. My iPhone 7, sitting next to my iPhone 6, "sees" more radio signal as measured by the field test display. Advantage iPhone 7. So hooray!
It’s possible there’s an issue with some component in the iPhone 7, but not likely a defect. New software will either fix the bug, or work around a hardware “issue” so that things work as they should. If I were to guess, I’d be looking at the new radio chipsets in the iPhone 7 (Qualcom modems perhaps?), and the code that runs them.
PS: For anyone still feeling annoyed, I contacted Verizon and complained about the signal problems on my new iPhone and got a credit to my bill; this makes up for the ludicrous “activation fee” they now charge.

Oct 16, 2016 11:49 PM in response to jd2020by toninog3,my iPhone 7 even failed to go into field test mode? And signal been very weak, weaker than iPhone 5s even. How would you explain then the removal of antenna bands and the fact that when holding the phone with you both palms makes things even worse, similar to putting your phone in aluminium case? Apple has removed the antenna bands and installed a new chip more powerful on paper to compensate missi bands but in reality things has got worse. Ok software update will fix that till some point but will the iPhone 7 will ever get signal strength as good as the older iPhones?

Oct 17, 2016 4:05 AM in response to toninog3by Olesya_ger,Just thinking... when I just bought my iPhone7 (16 September), I didn't experience any issues with network, 4g, battery etc... It feels like those issues started after about 1.5-2 weeks. Is it possible that while my phone was still on 10.0.1 it was fine, but problems started after I've updated software to 10.0.2? It feels like it's right timing for when my phone started to go crazy

Oct 17, 2016 5:55 AM in response to Jaalwineby Olesya_ger,So, I've just came back from Apple store. They replaced my phone and everything is working. As soon as guys in the store heard that I'm with iPhone 7 and network issues they immediately brought me new one and didn't even ask me what happened and what I've done trying to resolve it. When asked what caused it, reply was "it's a known issue with iPhone 7 and some of them have faulty sim-card unit"

Oct 17, 2016 6:06 AM in response to Olesya_gerby toninog3,well done To which store did you went to? At Brent Cross I asked two advisors and they had no idea . This is good news, can you confirm with us what iOS are you running, and is it ok when you use the phone as a sat nav, Google maps for exmaple?
Thank you.

Oct 17, 2016 6:46 AM in response to toninog3by Olesya_ger,To Regents street one. The one they've re-opened this weekend. I'm on iOS 10.0.1 and to be honest don't want to update to 10.0.2 in case it cases same issues again... I can use google maps and apple maps, but haven't tried to use it as satnav yet

Oct 17, 2016 10:17 AM in response to toninog3by r0bd,10.0.3 avail for iPhone 7 users.
Apple has just released the latest version of iOS, 10.0.3. It’s an update only for the iPhone 7, and it’s here to fix all of your cellular connectivity woes.
There have been numerous reports of cellular connectivity problems for iPhone 7 users, particularly those on Verizon. A series of discussions on the Apple discussion board show that users have seen their service drop from LTE to 3G, and then to no service at all.
The fix appeared to be simple: just turn off Voice over LTE, and the problems seemed to go away. Apple was said to be working on a fix, and this seems to be it.
The update is appearing now for iPhone 7 users. Just go to Settings, General, Software Update, and you should see the option to do an over-the-air update. Just make sure you’re connected to Wi-Fi and either plugged in or have a good battery charge.

Oct 18, 2016 5:56 AM in response to Jaalwineby dsgrce,Hey Everyone,
I've installed iOS 10.0.3 on my phone and used it during my commute for the past day and this appears to have corrected the issue we've been having. Everyone else should update and give it a shot. I'll keep testing this out and will update if I see the issue again, but I'm fairly confident that this has now resolved the issue.

Oct 18, 2016 5:59 AM in response to dsgrceby Robert Faiman,Installed 10.0.3, turned Voice-over-LTE back on, and everything seems to be working normally again.

Oct 18, 2016 9:51 AM in response to Jaalwineby r0bd,Installed 10.0.3 on my VZW iPhone 7 (256gb) and while I haven't seen the the 'No Service' scenario yet, I once again got a voicemail with no missed call. So service still seems to be an issue in locations where they were not previously and aren't on other iPhone's.
