    - To install later that Lion (10.7.x) on the 2006-2007 Mac Pro you need a software hack since those Macs only have a 32 bit EFI, and later than Lion is only 64 bit OS.

Google for the hack if you want to try using it.

    - What MacBook Pro disk do you have? If it originally came with the MacBook Pro it will only work with that model MacBook Pro and not with another model Mac

    - so i can just transfer the clone OS from my portable HD to the newly format HD.?

    - if not i'll just find a hack later then.

    - i have a Disc Snow leopard 10.6 from my Macbook Pro.

    thanks for the info.

Again what MacBook Pro SL disk do you have?

If a retail disk (white label background) then your it will work in your Mac Pro. If gray background it will not.

What you can do is is attached a HD enclosure/dock via USB to your MacBook Pro and install Slow lepard on that and then fully update SL on the MacBook Pro and then it should work in your Mac Pro

If you have the white label disc, you can just boot from it without involving your other Mac at all.
