I Upgraded to iOS 10 on Wednesday but didn't use Apple Pay until I received my iPhone 7 today, the double click on home button does Not work. My husband has a 6s and also upgraded to iOS 10 and his does not work either. All was fine on iOS 9.3.5 last week. Is this a known issue?

Not sure if this is related but since upgrading to iOS 10 I cannot make purchases in the iTunes store on my iPad. I get an error message telling me the the transaction has failed and offering to retry or cancel. Retry fails etc.
I'm having the same issue.. Hope they come up with a patch very soon!!

After many retries the problem stopped happening and I was able to buy. I put it down to congestion or some other temporary disruption.
Ever since upgrading to iOS 10.0.2 I've been unable to use Applepay. Contacted Apple & was told to do a hard reset, yeah that didn't make sense. Prior to update I was able to double tap home button with no issue, thinking of downgrading back down. Thanks for nothing Apple
Spoke with Apple today & they acted as though it was a new issue. iOS 10.0.2 from Apple USA bad upgrade.

Given that most people with iOS 10.0.2 are not having this problem, something is going on with your phone particularly. It could be hardware. It could be software. I would suggest that you restore the phone as new and test it. That will give you a starting point.
Double-tapping the HOME button when on the Lock screen still works for me. Go to Settings/Wallet & Apple Pay and make sure the feature is turned on.
All settings are On! Worked fine the afternoon of prior to installing 10.2

I had this issue too. Try adding a new fingerprint to Touch ID.
I Tried everything practical. Don't want to reset phone. It's not worth it. But until apple does something apple pay is dead to me.

Then I guess Apple Pay is dead to you forever, as Apple isn't going to do anything for one phone, unless you take it to them to troubleshoot the problem with your phone. It's not a problem with the version, as demonstrated by the fact that a couple of hundred million users have not reported it as a problem.

Restoring the phone from your back up should take you less than an hour.
