Q: Kernel crashes I think?

since installing the update I've been crashing frequently, programs closing, and my laptop restarting
I was in the middle of making a post moments ago when it restarted to say my computer had to restart because of a problem

    Try running this program and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor.  Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. On the screen with Options, please open Options and check the bottom 2 boxes before running. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.

    Try Safe mode

    <http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1564>

    If you can get it booted and to stay up, try running EtreCheck as suggested above, and posting the output here.

    If you cannot get booted in Safe mode, then suggest you make a Genius Bar appointment at your local Apple store and have your system evaluated (this part is free; any repairs will cost, but they ask first)

    There is nothing in that panic log indicating a third-party kext issue, and it doesn't appear you have any external devices connected. That pretty much indicates some internal hardware fault.

    If it doesn't occur again, it might just have been some odd problem and you can ignore it.

    If it continues to occur, you can first try resetting NVRAM: How to Reset NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

    Another thing to do would be to erase the drive, repair it if necessary, and then restore from your backup (you have one, don't you?).

    If that fails, it could be some odd bug in the kernel that may only affect your Mac or that model. Restoring to a previous OS version may resolve that problem.

    Finally, you may just have to take it to an Apple Store and have it checked out.
