Q: Apple Watch Series 2 not available in stores?

That sounds about normal. I usually order from direct from Apple when it comes to pre-ordering. Apple is usually pretty good at their estimates. I've not had good luck with other companies. I was at the apple store in town today. They had the Series 2 stainless steel with Milanese loop in stock. I didn't ask how many as I'm looking for the space grey aluminum or space black stainless steel.

Update: I just checked the Apple Store app on my phone and it shows that I can pick up a series 2 watch on nov 2. If I order it now. I'm wondering if that means that they won't have any in stock until then or if I might get lucky if I just stop by. Any thoughts?

I've had an order in my Apple bag for weeks and keep checking the "pick up in store" option.  The Apple Watch Series 2 Aluminum Space Gray with Black Sports Band has come up unavailable in all the NYC stores.  Today, I just happened to get lucky and it was available in two stores!  I'm picking mine up after work.

On another note, I've been checking at the WTC Apple Store and they've had some trickle in.  Yesterday, they had the rose gold aluminum;  I wasn't interested.  Today, they had the silver stainless steel with a link band - $1,000; I wasn't interested in that one either.  So, stopping at the store could be worthwhile.

The International Plaza Store in Tampa only had the space grey Series 2 model on opening day.  I went home and ordered two rose gold Series 2 online and they said it would be five to seven weeks.  They arrived today!  Just got them a few minutes ago.  They shipped on Monday with a Thursday delivery date but came this afternoon.

That is awesome same with me. I had been checking the option of in store pick up for some time and today there was one available in Westchester store. I picked it up during lunch. I assume every week they have delivery of certain number of watches. Just be ready with the one you want. As soon as you find it available buy it. Because it happened with me in past. There was in store pick available and i took some time to check option and before i could buy it went out of stock.

I am checking the stock every morning at 8am but no luck for me yet. You guys saw them online at 8am or just during the day with a random check?

8 AM has never worked for me. I brought 2 watches. 1st one i could see online at 4pm and 2nd one at 11:30 am. I would say try after 11 am. Very high chance.
Note: This was in tristate area. I might be different for different states. Good luck !

I'm based in the Greater Toronto Area, so Canada, not in the states but its the same.

My online order (42mm stainless with sport band) that was scheduled to ship mid to end of October was updated yesterday from processing to getting ready for shipment. Then this morning I got a text from Apple saying it shipped and tracking revealed it to arrive via UPS this Friday. Woot!

Yep, you will have it very soon!  I was surprised when I got notice of mine being shipped Monday.  Got it set up and working!

Oh ****. They are available in downtown Toronto right now as well.. Hopefully still on friday.

That's what I've been trying to do. Check back often. Based on everyones responses, I'm assuming that the Nov 2 date is now an estimate. Hopefully I will get lucky.

I pre-ordered my 42mm Series 2 on Sept. 10th and I got the text notification on the 26th that it shipped - arrived on the 28th via UPS World Express Saver. I was pleasantly surprised since the shipping estimate was Oct. 11-24th.

Apple seems to be ramping up the Series 2 production. Where it used to say "Unavailable for pickup", it is now replaced with an actual availability date, at least here in Las Vegas.

PS. My ship date of Sep. 29 got delayed to Oct. 3rd due to severe weather conditions in Shanghai, China. Just tracked my shipment and it finally made it to the Osaka UPS port. Any day now…
